Discipleship

Coming soon, the discipleship portal is planned to be a place where disciple-makers can discover individuals who would like to be discipled. In the next 25 years, It is our desire to see 90% of the adults in our region being prayed for by name in anticipation of being invited into a disciple-making relationship. We also desire to see 50% of adults fully engaged in disciple-making relationships.

What are disciple-making relationships:

Disciple-making relationships are small groups of 3-6 individuals of the same gender, or 3-6 married couples (6-12 adults), who meet regularly to practice the study of Scriptures and applying it to their lives. We endeavor our discipleship groups to be closed groups for a specified number of meetings that culminates in a comissioning of the group to have every individual or couple go on to disciple more until the return of Christ.

The groups meetings are typically 90 minutes in length, most often meet in homes or public places, and regularly include the breaking of bread (either meal or snacks). The groups begin with a time of reflecting on the applications from the prior meeting, then lead into the fruit of the study they each did (always chapters of the Bible), and culminates in application of what they will do with what they learned and praying for each other.

The relationships established in these groups deepens the care and concern for both those in the group, while providing a missional awareness for everyone to have deep relationships where they can learn God’s Word and grow in their study and sharing of it. These groups are not leader-dependant in that everyone quickly learns how to study God’s Word and share the truths the Scriptures teach.

Are you longing to be a part of a group where the other individuals or couples are committed to your relationship with God, and where you commit to the growth in theirs?
